Triangle Process Equipment is proud to announce that it finalized a partnership with North Carolina-based Charter Medical, a manufacturer of specialty single-use products for the regenerative medicine and bioprocessing industries. The partnership, which complements Triangle’s strategy for continued growth in the single-use biopharmaceutical segment, will enable Triangle to distribute Charter’s single-use bags and tubing throughout much of the United States.
Charter Medical, Ltd., based in Winston-Salem and a subsidiary of Fenner PLC, has been developing single-use biotech products for more than 25 years. Known for its innovations in freezing applications and cold-chain tubing, Charter Medical manufactures single-use solutions that specialize in the collection, processing, storage and filtration of biological fluids. Charter Medical’s 15,000 square feet of clean room space is ISO 13485 certified and FDA-registered.
Triangle, and its sister companies Accuflow Systems and Casella Process Solutions, will distribute the following single-use products from Charter Medical:
- Bio-Pak® Bags: Used for general applications, cell culture, buffer and media storage, these bags are manufactured with Clear-Pak Film and use single web film in a multi-layer, co-extruded format. They offer superior clarity, excellent gas barrier properties and are animal derivative component free.
- Freeze-Pack™ STS (FP-STS) Bio-Containers and Secondary Shipping Containers: FP-STS Bio-Containers and Secondary Shipping Containers support frozen storage and transport needs as low as -80°C for bulk intermediates.
- Freeze-Pak™ Bio Containers with FP-FLEX™ Tubing: Cold chain tubing and containers designed for cryogenic storage to temperatures as low as -196°C and transportation for virus and cell banks. As the first available closed-system solution enabling frozen storage to temperatures as low as -196°C, sterile connection and reduced seed train expansion time, Charter Medical’s Freeze-Pak™ bag and FP-FLEX™ tubing represent a breakthrough for biopharmaceutical and cell therapy industries.
“This distribution agreement will help Charter Medical meet the growing demand for sterile bioprocessing solutions that promote efficient production campaigns and reduce contamination risks,” said Charter Medical Director of Sales & Marketing Sarah Anderson. “We are excited to be able to collaborate with Triangle to bring these innovations to the fast-growing bioprocessing and cell-therapy segments.”
Committed to integrating continuous improvements in manufacturing efficiencies and product quality, Charter Medical’s values line up with Triangle’s.
“Charter Medical’s dedication to product quality and innovative product development aligns with Triangle’s commitment to delivering the specialized processing solutions that our biotech and pharmaceutical customers need,” said Jeff Blease, General Manager at Triangle Process Equipment. “We look forward to a future that brings value to our biotech customers, and is marked by reciprocal growth for both Triangle and Charter Medical.”
